Pity Party For Those Who Have Never Been Love Bombed

I never have thought of this as love bombed but yes I guess as an intactive teen living in an intactive family I was loved bombed. By the Priest Quorum's 1st assistance who called me every week to get me to MIA and Priesthood meetings, from caring YM presidents and two great bishops and some other youth leaders. Were it not for them and their reaching out I never would have got active, never served a mission and likely would have faded into inactivity. I wonder what life would have been like. In spite of my unraveled testimony I am still glad for my life and i have had a pretty good life. Much of what I am is because of the Church. Much of the success in other areas life comes some from skills I learned while serving a mission as well as in various church callings. When I was an inactive teen I really was involved in some potentially self destructive behavior. Some of my friends that were doing the same things have gone on to live wrecked lives. A number got girls pregnant at about 18, they married (which probably they should not have, but they should have explored adoption) and their marriages did not last. Some had severe addiction problems. One ended up in jail for dealing drugs.

Now I don't want to make it seem like all my friends who were not active went on to live horrible lives. But a number did. Given the fact that addictive behavior ( especially with alcohol) seem prevalent in my ancestry it is likely a good thing I do not drink and that is only because of the Church.


Perhaps I would have given up some of my habits anyway, or modified them and still found my way to a happy successful life. But in spite of how I feel about the truth claims of the Church I have benefited very much personally in my life.

While only a very few people who know me are aware that I no longer believe in Mormonism at all, it is coming up on three years that I have been inactive.

And nobody has ever tried to love bomb me.

Maybe more than a few people think you no longer believe.
