Perhaps. I dunno. It's just not what I would be doing on Valentine's Day if I were single and had no date and saw an attractive young lady sitting unattached. By attractive I also include no smoking, no drinking, no nose rings or metal piercings except for the ear, no needle marks, and no tats.

There goes all of high school and half of college for me...

Depends on who you hang out with. I found many of that sort even in strictly non LDS settings. But Canada? I don't know.......

Wow. So I guess this poor kid is just trying to enforce the honor code. It's not his fault that BYU thinks the woman in this picture is dressed inappropriately. There is a less socially awkward way to go about it, but he was just reminding her of the honor code. If anyone has a problem with what he did, they can take it up with BYU.

Contextual question. Is this Brittany a nonmember or a "NOM" or is she active believing LDS?

I gave the link.

Someone should report them to the English Language police.

Whatever else she is, she'll be a former BYU student soon.

You should be able to follow it here.

Sounds like it won't be on the site until it airs.

If she was indeed in violation of the code and she criticizes it in the local media venue, you may be right.

If she is active and believing now, and she criticizes in the media, and she's kicked out, she might also ultimately be on her way out of the Church (on her own). If that turns out to be the case, I'd say the blame is entirely on her for misunderstanding the intent of the Code and of the young man. She would have created her own stumbling block.

Actually, the church created the stumbling block. Probably a good thing if she finds it early, stubs her toe, and walks away. No sense in letting it trip her up after she's married for 40 years and has multiple progeny that she's raised in a church that turns out to be her worst nightmare.
