Joseph, you carried yourself well on the interview.
In the linked article I found the following quote, and was not sure if it was yours;
"we want to engage in open dialogue regarding the history of our faith."
I can see you at ease discussing church history. Most all other members...not so much at all! The history itself would be news to most of these LDS folk anyhow.
My question for you is this: Does church leadership or the general membership have any desire to have this "open dialogue" regarding history? Do you think this statement was made more out of a sense of public necessity/posturing?

Unfortunately, it is the kind of discouragement that keeps on giving. The Church will have heartache over this issue until it finally provides an apology for instituting and maintaining the ban. The only proper response after such an apology would be that of forgiveness.
