Why don't you resubmit it in a milder form?
"Petition wasn’t meant to start a witch hunt as I’ve said 6000 times." ~ Hanna Seariac, LDS apologist
Naturally, critics of the restored gospel have been dancing in the streets over this news
I can't say much about critics, but I can verify that many faithful LDS scholars are rejoicing at this (myself being one).
You're absolutely vile and obnoxious paternalistic air of intellectual superiority towards anyone who takes issue with your clear misapprehension of core LDS doctrine must give one pause. - Droopy
He was also a noteworthy contributor to SHIELDS. Speaking of SHIELDS, I wonder if they will now be deleting all that email correspondence that they've had posted there all these years....

LOL, I did. But it doesn't matter to him because it was never about tone to begin with. It was about not wanting to look like an idiot for jumping to conclusions and making it perfectly obvious to the word that he is just Hamblin's puppet.

The only think I recall from Parker is his old website and the fact that he lives in the Anaheim area where i served my mission. Oh, and that he once took pride in the fact that he never had any formal education outside High School. Go figure.

There is nothing wrong with apologetics per se, and you see apologetic material published in the Ensign all the time. So this false distinction between apologetic and nonapologetic is one of their own making, and they lie about this to further rally the troops at FAIR whose mission in life it seems, is apologetics.
10. Mike claims Dehlin didn't try to contact Dan, but that is a lie. The fact that he would say this proves he doesn't have the faintest clue what he is talking about.
Kevin makes a lot of good points here, but these deserve special attention. It is false to see this as a blanket repudiation of apologetics, and it is false that Dehlin did not try to contact Peterson.
If I recall correctly, Dehlin said that he had tried unsuccessfully to initiate an email conversation with DCP at least once before he finally sent the CC'ed email that Parker is quoting from. Dan didn't care that Dehlin was upset or fearful about the prospect of getting the FARMS Review treatment. DCP has always been remarkably callous about the pain he inflicts on other people.

Some of the SHIELDS material indicates that he used to live in Costa Mesa, which is indeed near Anaheim. Now, however, it appears that he lives a stone's throw away from Will Schryver. (If I recall correctly, Hurricane and Cedar City are quite close to each other.) That's interesting that he would boast about that particular level of education. I guess he fancies himself an imitation of the "uneducated" Joseph Smith.
