I used to be very engaged in Mormon studies (as a reader mostly) in the late 90's and early 00's but I have been out of the loop for the last 6-7 years (working long hours for big law firms). I happened to be looking at RFM to read the exchange between Thomas Phillips and Elder Holland (I know Tom's son) and it was there I learned about the DCP firing, which led me to this board.
So what else did I miss for the last 7 years? ;)
The last serious thing I did for Mormon studies was attend a conference on Mormon theology at Yale, which was interesting because it had TBMs like Givens and Millet as well as apostates (Michael Quinn) and even evangelical critics (I can't remember the name of the book but a few evangelicals had just written a book challenging Mormonism on theological/doctrinal grounds, which was very interesting and of a much higher quality than your average anti-mormon tripe. It was the first conference of its kind and I thought they intended to hold more of them. Anyone know what happened with that?
Good to see Dr. Shades is still around. I remember perusing his page way back in the day.

Just don't bend over for soap when Paul is around. Jenn Kamp I myself follow Poligamy Porter. Our motto is why engage in serious scholarship if you can resort to mocking and insults. There is plenty of room in our trailer for more members.
