That would not be consistent with the doctrine.

Cool. So the apostles and prophets were mistaken as to the doctrine for 148 years. Good to know that.

Doesn't seem to be the case. Besides, you guys apparently don't know what racism is so there really is no hope for intellectual honesty from your quarter.

Again, what a stupid response. That is one of the worst analogies I have ever heard.

Saying an entire people is cursed with dark skin because of their wickedness is not the same as saying someone is wearing a blue shirt. Only a conditioned idiot would make such an analogy.

You seem to be operating under the delusion that, because something makes sense to you, it must be a good argument.

Bcspace has a reputation of saying black is white and white is black. It's usually this issue or the what is doctrine issue. I just tend to ignore him most of the time, although you are right that he hurts the church's image where he posts.

Here's how this goes:

Porter: Saying that people are cursed with dark skin because of their wickedness is racist.
bcspace: Not if there's no specific mention of what kind of wickedness.
Bob:It's pretty clear to everyone else that nonspecific statements of wickedness directed toward an entire people are indeed racist.
bcspace: Yellow journalism! Intellectual dishonesty!

Do you ever get tired of spewing BS all the time?

I really admire bcspace's determination never to admit defeat whatever the odds. It reminds me of Britain in 1940:

Unfortunately, in bcspace's case Operation Sealion has already taken place successfully, but he hasn't noticed.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

You're giving him too much credit. The RAF actually had weapons.

I remember when bcspace linked to a racist publication. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22172

I'm laughing my a** off when he said "you guys apparently don't know what racism is"

bcspace thinks the way to defend the church and attract investigators is to quote a racist publication. Just let that sink in for a moment.

Who the hell are they baptizing in his stake?

This is still published by LDS Inc.

Therefore according to your definition, the contents thereof are doctrine.

Yep, still official doctrine position.

Are we not all supposed to be special to God? Our uniqueness should be taught to our children as a blessing, not a curse.

Liz, do you still belong to and contribute to this church that holds steadfast to it's racist teachings?

There was a different thread a while ago where I made the point that anyone still paying tithing was actually funding the Church's homophobic activism. Didn't go down well.

But I guess if one is paying tithing then one is funding the racist teachings of the Church.
