Yea it was pretty long. Thanks for reading it. Was there anything you found interesting or that rang true or is it just crazy talk

But, welcome to the board anyway. For some reason we do seem to attract a number of "the Church is in Apostasy" type Mormons amid all the exmos and NOMs, so you should fit in fine.
I think all active members of the church are cafeteria Mormons. They follow what current leaders say but discredit what past leaders said and what is writen I scripture.
Bob Loblaw wrote:Funny how these folks always latch onto a specific prophet and badmouth the rest. Sounds like a cafeteria Mormon to me.

I think you're absolutely right that the church has turned away from a whole bunch of things that were originally taught, and they also have de-emphasized or ignored a whole bunch of things that are still in our scriptures. I don't think that it would restore my belief if the church decided to turn back to some of those foundational things, but at least the disconnect wouldn't be quite so vast.
Hey there was a little bit more to it than that. But that is a pretty good summary

Welcome!
I'll give it a try.
Joseph Smith was a true prophet and gave us the Book of Mormon and tried to start a hippie commune in Kirtland and Missouri where everyone had everything in common, but that didn't work because the members were wicked, and when they came to Utah they eventually were content just to build up riches, except Ezra Taft Benson 'cause he taught us to read the Book of Mormon and not be prideful, but we can repent and follow the true gospel and be saved.
Hey Nightlion It sounds like you must be a pretty knowledgeable guy. I did make mistakes in my writing. I will probably make more. What are your views on the current LDS Church?

How can you compare this fella to me? He got corrected on his first shot through the knot hole. I don't think I have been corrected yet. Have I?
But seriously and all pride aside:

Been told I happen to look like that guy in Star Trek who sang this.
I do believe that we could be. There is no limit to the good that a person could do.

Wow, I really agree with that, but in the mean time perhaps we can be the ones we've been waiting for.
That was something I wanted to share in my paper. I don't think that the church will ever go back to the original teachings. I think it will fall just like the early revelations say it will. Just a question for you? I have noticed that some people that leave the church lose alll faith in God. Is that true of you or other people on Mormom Discussions. What is the belief system of people here? These are questions for everyone, just wondering?

The Key to Mormonism: A con man decided that there was more money in religion than in glass-looking.
