Yes this thread is about Darrick. I quoted a political point from what he wrote, the point being that liberal Oregon is no better for a homeless person than Dallas, Texas.

We should do something simply if for no other reason than we know about it now. How then. Get the newspaper to contact him with our intent and have him reply with at least a General Delivery post office location. I guess is the first step.
One of the many tragedies about this story is that bipolar can be successfully treated. But it is a difficult illness to deal with without a strong support system.

I'm in for whatever can be done. Linking Darrick up with whatever social services can provide assistance, advice and direct support would be the first step, I suppose?

Good idea. I have to leave for a few hours, when I get back and if no one else has offered, I'll get in contact with the paper. If we have someone on the ground there willing to help arange things, we can then raise some support and hopefullt improve Darrick's condition. I'm sure someone on the staff would love to help if we can provide the funds.

If we can figure out what he is close to, i would be happy to try to arrange a week in a hotel or something for him - i just don't know the area at all.
