Re: Rude Online Behavior in Mormon Discussions
I don't think there's really anything controversial here.
People who spend all their free time on their computers are by that very definition not spending their free time outdoors exercising or whatever. And that will correlate quite frequently with being overweight. Not always, but more so than the case of people who spent a lot of time in physical activity. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why this should be.
I've seen this at work in my own life, too. I was previously very overweight, and the start of me going from just overweight to greatly overweight coincided approximately with the release of the game Everquest back in 1999, and me spending vast quantities of time playing that for the next few years. Had I spent a lot of that time out running, biking, hiking, or almost anything else would I have had the same weight problem? I think the answer is pretty clearly probably not.
Anyhow, I don't think there's anything magical about the computer in all of this. People who spend all their time watching TV are going to be just as fat on average. They're called couch potatoes for a reason. It's the exercise, stupid.

Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

I nominate this for the most creative misspelling of the year on MDB.
Zadok:
I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

I haven't played EQ in over 6 years now. I finally managed to swear it off. by the way, MkTavish, the fact that you know people who played Everquest who weren't in bad shape in no way disproves the hypothesis that people who spend most of their free time doing things like this tend to be in worse shape than those who spend their time outdoors in physical activities.

Besides that is the correct spelling.
You're joking, right?
Google "puscelanemous" and you will get "Showing results for pusillanimous", with links to a string of dictionary entries. Insist on the search for your spelling, and you will get links to this board, and to posts elsewhere by other people like you who can't spell. It also occurs in a list of spelling errors in a PhD thesis you can download.
The word as spelled by you is not in any dictionaries at all.
Either you are joking, or you are not very bright. I hope it is the former.

I'm pretty sure that Mktavish is either taking too many drugs, or not enough.
