Oh, of course there is and would be a benefit. It would simply not be a "needed" benefit that's superior to feeding the poor, as zeezrom believes.

I think the LDS church has a good business model. It's clearly successful. It should continue doing what it does because it's filling a particular niche for its consumers.

I don't think anyone here suggesting not housing, feeding, clothing and providing health care to the poor. But does the good society need more, even for those who can't afford it?
Scrooge came to think that some joie de vivre is a basic human need also.

Yes, and if people, including members, approach it that way rather than pass it off as the only gateway to some eternal reward, and stop forcing the kids of Mormon parents into it, then LDS Inc serves a nice niche for its consumers, as you note.
