Not do temple work?
100%. Even if we assume the ridiculous premise that God is bound by these asinine rituals (elderly people watching the same movie 1000 times, falling asleep from boredom), there will be all of eternity to do the bureaucratic busywork.

It's so legalistic, bureaucratic, and trivial and completely counter to everything Christ taught during his ministry in Jerusalem. He literally fought against the Pharisees over exactly this trivial BS. And guess what - LDS temples have money changers in them where you can rent temple clothes and buy food. It's absolutely ridiculous how blind the Mormons are.
Were you at one time a ‘temple Mormon’? You’ve got the ‘creds’?

Yep. My "Bob's Mormon cred scale" score is pretty low though as I was a convert.

If I might ask, what brought you to the point that you decided to be baptized? And why did you decide to go to the temple for the first time?

My Mormon wife, who I met in high school. I encouraged her to take her religion seriously, as she was a bit of a wild child and I was a casual Catholic and a big fan of Jesus. I tried to make it work as a progressive Mormon but after almost a decade I realized the church did not want people like me within it. There was no way to attend church every Sunday and feel comfortable with what was being taught. Putting us in primary to teach it to kids was the last straw.

It's so legalistic
From my view, unfortunately, Mormonism is clearly legalistic (So are other organized religions that have been placing their members in chains of slavery for countless generations - While their "leaders" work their tails off to keep them in this state of bondage)
completely counter to everything Christ taught during his ministry in Jerusalem.
Without question.
He literally fought against the Pharisees over exactly this trivial BS.
While I wouldn't say that Jesus found it trivial, Jesus did place heavy condemnation and responsibility directly at the feet of the "religious big shots"
LDS temples have money changers in them where you can rent temple clothes and buy food.
I learn something new almost every day.
It's absolutely ridiculous how blind the Mormons are.
Again, from my view, I can't agree with this statement about "Mormons" - just like any group of human beings, there are many varieties/flavors/degrees - I think it's more balanced and perhaps even more fair to use "Mormonism" when making a statement like this.

Just my take.

In John 2:16 what do you think Jesus meant when he referred to the temple as His Father's house?
And said to them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
The reason I ask is that of all the Christians in the world it is the Latter Day Saints that build and have temple worship as part and parcel of their religious practice. Sure, there will be those that either ridicule or make light of what goes on in the temple, but the fact is...the temple is referred to as The House of the Lord. What are we to do with that?

If the Latter Day Saints don't have access to the 'true' temple referred to above, then who does?

Yes, patrons to the temple can either take along their own temple clothing or rent them at a clothing counter. The rental fees go to maintain the laundry and maintenance of the the clothing. Repair, replacement, and such.

And yes, there is usually a temple cafeteria where patrons can purchase meals as they are at the temple. Some folks spend hours at the temple during the day and they obviously get hungry. The food isn't given away for free.

Both the laundry/clothing department and the cafeteria are financially self sustaining.

And now you know a bit more. :)
