I have been asked and others have also pointed out to me the very newest apologetic attempts of Stephen Smoot to defend Joseph Smith's Book of Abraham and the papyri. I am going to do a detailed response with the evidence showing the attempt has yet again, failed. Come and join me for my special Saturday Night Live.

Then on Sunday, the following night, I will have live on my show Dr. Trevor Luke, Jesus as a Roman God! It's going to be a fabulous weekend for all to continue our education.
I cannot WAIT for this! It's going to be epic, I'm sure! My favorite topic, and my shelf breaker....

Those will both be boffo programs. Upon leaving this board, I will need to rely on YouTube for notifications. Dr. Trevor Luke should be especially exciting.
You can’t leave! The quantum platypus is *still* simultaneously hosting a tea party on Mars and solving crossword puzzles with extraterrestrial jellyfish while riding unicycles made of Coca-Cola!
You can check out anytime, but you can never leave. ✈️

=~ Hotel California, iff no one said that before the Eagles album. 🦅

I honestly tried to give you credit Shulem. I magnified your points and shared a bit of the historical data to where the audience, no doubt, grasped its significance.
My wife just asked me if I exaggerated in saying I will do another 100 videos on this topic. I told her heck no, I have Paul Osborne to draw from - LOL! In time, through the years, the videos will pile up and truly educate folks to help them make better decisions about things on this subject. I will say... Paul....... we definitely have given the apologists food to chew on now.....

I really had fun, and appreciate ALL of you who came to see the show - I'm lookin at you Boomer 57! :D

Everyone who comes and gives me support and shares the fun of the chat family is greatly appreciated! Now it's late, everyone off to bed! LOL.
AND.......Don't forget tomorrow night with Kishkumen Live with the BYP!!! That is gonna flat out rock too! His slides are sensational!!!

It was a great show and I had a blast! :D :D I was especially blown away by that Lucy Mack Smith quote. Joseph Smith used the seer stone (or at least the hat) to "translate" the lacunae.

I would also be sad if Moksha left.

Moksha's posts often come out of left field, and that means that some of us don't always get them. I don't consider that a problem, though. The tilted perspective is well worth having. A lot of the things that we discuss here are, after all, pretty absurd. A lot of the things we discuss are also supposed by some people to be pretty serious. Letting everyone decide for themselves which is which is one of the actually important things that we do here. Signalling that the line between serious and absurd is kind of fuzzy here, that's a genuine service.

And to be clear, most of the time I do get the jokes, or at least I think that I do. For me at least, Moksha is a comic who is working the edge, and so sometimes goes over it. It's not a matter of regularly making no sense—not for me, anyway.

Self-indulgently long incomprehensible posts are annoying, but Moksha doesn't do that. Even the few that I do not get at all are just brief interjections. Nobody ought to mind those.

I wouldn't say that I'm a free speech absolutist, but I am firmly in the camp of people that do no harm with their speech and are brief.
Well said. I would miss my flightless feathered friend.

Great job, Philo. Indeed, the scary box has been opened and the nightmare has just begun. Sooner or later the apologists are going to have to start talking about the 3000 BC vs. 2300 BC scenario and make a determination on how to piously throw Smith under the bus and glean something positive out of the train wreck. But they won't be able to and their work will be thwarted.

Have you noticed the apologists refuse to take up the issue about Anubis having his nose hacked off? They won't touch it and for good reason. But the 3000 BC vs. 2300 BC is far worse and more difficult to deal with than a lead plate being manipulated to suit a fancy. I tell you, this dooms the Book of Abraham and when the top 15 start to process this dilemma there will be changes coming down the pike. It's an unsustainable situation in which they won't be able to maintain the status quo. When the lazy learning top 15 hear about this and when it registers in their ears about how they use both numbers in their official curriculum they are going to get quite concerned about how to justify the obvious contradiction and the colossal discrepancy it creates.
