This was a very insightful episode Kish. It gave me a new perspective on the Book of Mormon. Our family ranch would also use water witchers to find well locations. My Grandfather swore by the practice. The reality was about a fifty percent success rate. I'm sure DCP would disagree with that.
Awesome, Dr Sunstoned! I always love hearing more about the use of these practices. I guess I exaggerated how easy it was to find water, but hopefully not too much.

Gemli would be very interesting. Maybe he would agree to be audio only? I remember in his NYT's interview he requested his image not be used.
I would definitely love to have gemli visit in some way. That would make for a fascinating conversation.

Enjoyed this episode. I understand about coming to the USA to be a Mormon. Back in the hiatus of my exploring things LDS, there was a guy on a discussion board who If I recall correctly was from Brazil. He thought I was male it turned out, and told me that he wanted to come to UT to find a big beautiful woman (LDS of course). Hubby and I joked about BBW for a while. It seemed he thought he could not get a choice LDS bride outside of the United States.

So, did your uncle, I believe it was, ever find any gold?

Not to my knowledge, poor sod. He passed away before my LDS mission ended. I was sad to hear of it. I only saw him once in my life. I spent mere days with him during one trip out West to visit with my mother's family. I was like 8 years old at the time. One of his kids brought a ten-speed bike to my missionary apartment in the high desert of California, but I did not even see the bike dropped off for me. I regret spending so little time with this real character.
