I find it concerning that a blog entry like that is posted in the LDS channel on patheos. It gives some insight into how some people think, and it's a very unsettling look. The author seems to specialize in conspiracy theories, which again, in my opinion is a pretty bad look for a channel categorized as "Latter-day Saint."

I'm not that familiar with Utah anymore, is this reflective of a strand of Mormon thought? Even if it's a minority, it's still dangerous, so I'm curious if this stance is becoming more commonplace.

Marcus, I would not disagree with your observation here. I have no information about this particular conspiracy and am unsure whether I would want to know more. It appears to lack the inventive level of a regular flat earth theory so promises little entertainment.

that is a reach by lifenews as "Hey fascist, catch" is from a video game.

Not to mention, it's not the M.O. of the "Left" to snipe political opponents with bolt-action hunting rifles from 200 yards. They typically riot and vandalize.

I think it's far more likely he was a radicalized "Groyper" that didn't like Kirk because he wasn't alt-right enough.

MAGA loves to pull out the antifa boogeyman when the suspect appears alt-right which seems to be exactly what lifenews is doing.
