Hypocrites?

You mean, like those who demand a different standard from their opponents than they do from their friends?

And someone who ignores the teachings of Jesus in her own life has a lot of cheek demanding that others conform to her self-serving interpretation thereof in their interactions with her.

38 ¶Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

43 ¶Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Hi Pahoran,

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen

I assume you take the sacrament regularly. We have taken upon ourselves (willingly) the name of Christ and thus, everything we do is, or should be, a reflection of him.

We all fall horribly short. I lost my temper last night with BC ... something that Christ would not have done -- at least not in the inappropriate way which I did.

When you or me or anyone else who claims to be a Christian -- and especially those of us who take the sacrament seriously -- have an obligation to carry his name and be examples of his attributes. That's how I interpret the sacrament prayer - and Mosiah -- anyway.

That's an incredibly moving post, Sethpayne, though I'm afraid that I'm going to have to issue a rather cynical prediction. Pahoran will either completely disregard and ignore your comments, or he will send you a PM. If it's the latter, the PM will say one of two things: 1) It will blast away at you with boatloads of invective and nastiness, or 2) it will offer up a bunch of unconvcing excuses and justifications for his behavior.

So does Pahoran engage in actual apologetics anymore or is he just a lightning rod?

On the contrary, he seems to be trying to wind Pahoran up in order to make him do a display of his "I hate you! You shall DIE! Be very scared!!!!!!!" routine. Seems to be working.

Chap,

I'm still waiting for you to provide evidence that I have ever said anything even remotely like the above.

Then we can move on to you explaining how I have done it so frequently as to constitute a "routine."

Because, quite frankly, I don't recognise it as even a bad parody of anything I've ever posted.
