Quite apart, that is, from the large degree of protection to free speech given by the US Constitution which would make it very difficult to outlaw criticism, even open mockery, of someone who deliberately puts himself in the public sphere as much as DCP has done, and is as deliberately contentious as DCP has been.)

Hi Chap. How's life treating you? Bummer?

I don't do in real life on this board. But I don't think I compromise my anonymity by answering "Pretty well, actually. This is quite a good time in my life. I think I have been a lucky guy, on the whole."

Bill Hamblin wrote:There have been a lot of rumors floating around the internet recently regarding a scandal brewing at the Maxwell Institute. In order to provide a reality check and quell some of the more wild and brazen speculations of apostates and anti-Mormons on the fringes of Mormondom, I’ll provide the following summary of my understanding of the situation.

I agree with Equality: Rather than "quell" anything, Hamblin instead verified that the talking points in the e-mails are 100% true in every particular. Thanks for helping out, Bill!

I also felt that interested Latter-day Saints, especially long-time supporters of the original mission of FARMS, deserved a more complete assessment of the situation, rather than being forced to rely on anti-Mormon and apostate slander and speculation.

And now, thanks to Bill, a faithful Mormon can now be relied on to verify that the anti-Mormons and apostates were right about recent goings-on after all.

I felt Dan deserved better, much better than this.

And verifying the truthfulness and accuracy of Doctor Scratch's informant is the "better" that Dan deserves? With friends like these. . .

I’m posting this summary of my understanding of the situation to alleviate further slander of Dan by apostates. Dan did not ask me to do this. I alone am responsible for this memo.

Umm, can anyone identify anything in Bill's summary that we didn't already know?

I'd seriously be considering prosecution for defamation of character. That's what I'd be doing.

In other words, this is your way of saying that Doctor Scratch is doing the smart thing by keeping his real name a secret?

Perhaps he should thank you for inadvertently giving him your seal of approval.

Now here's a little thought.

I have on a number of occasions postulated that DCP gets exactly what he desires (attention) from the online postings of Dr Scratch. It seems Scratch plays directly into the hands of DCPs ego and enables him to claim persecution and stalking and unfair ess etc etc. when seemingly it would be easier for DCP to just ignore Scratch he doesn't, he reacts and posts and pouts about the unjustness of Scratch's attention.

And now this leak.
Which see s to serve DCP better than it serves the Institute.
News of DCP being dismissed would have been public knowledge at some point. With this leak DCP can be perceived as the injured party and the Institute look like ogres.

It's just possible that the source of Scratch's inside information could be DCP himself...

Well, if you're into concealing bribery, theft or murder, then it's a good thing to do it anonymously.

I am amazed at Hamblin's including the email addresses and phone #'s for Bradford and the MI with the obvious intent of encouraging the rallying of the forces for DP. How smart is that?

Ray seems perilously close to meltdown. Can't he cope with Dr Scratch having been right all along? Take a break, Ray?

No doubt Ray is having a meltdown precisely because he bought into Dan's lies all these years about how scratch has no real informant and that everything he says is lies. It must really burn him up now to be proven wrong about all that.

I think you are aiming a little low there, Doctor. It seems there is a certain Scribbler who has been pulling both their strings.

I do my own thinking. "Scribblers" only open new avenues of thought to be considered.

Has Scratch been your Scribbler?

Worth a thought.
