Yeah, that is an interesting point, stem. And I think there is a lot of merit to what you are saying here. It makes me think about some of the choices of insult I have made in the past. Is it really insulting to gay men to have someone like jp use the BJ imagery as a way of saying that consiglieri really must be a kind of fawning factotum for John Dehlin? I kinda think so. We can set aside the problem with it being wildly inaccurate to the point of stupid. So, dropping these unfortunately bigoted insults, if we want to know what a fawning factotum is like, all we need to do is look at jp and the way he kept going to bat for Rosebud, albeit ineffectively. I think jp is attacking consiglieri's manhood using bigoted stereotypes because consiglieri obviously trounced jp, showing what a principled and evidence-based defense of someone looks like--not much like jp's actions.dastardly stem wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 3:55 pmJust to clarify for Jpatterson since he seems to have missed the memo: It's not really a thing anymore, outside the repertoire of bigots, to exploit homosexual sex acts to attempt to demean other men. It doesn't work, as most of us don't look down on people for their sexual orientation. All it really does it make you look bad. Or maybe that's just me?

Then edit your post with either a strikethrough and an explanation, or a deletion. Like, leaving it continues to evoke the response you ostensibly regret.jpatterson wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 5:03 pmYou're right. I apologize. It was inappropriate and I regret it.
For example, let’s say I post the following:
“Bigoted comment”
Bad form. Terrible. I regret it. Then I should do this:
“Bigoted comment” <- Sorry guys, that was bigoted of me to use a homosexual act to insult heterosexual men.
Or
[I deleted the bigoted comment I made, sorry]
What do you think? Too wokey, or good form?

Re: Jenn Kamp Files Lawsuit Against John Dehlin
I listened to the interview between Jenn and the Board, and it reminds me of pornhub. Hear me out.
A few years ago, I read an article about pornhub's business model, and it quoted a database manager who said he found the actual content of the website boring and irrelevant to what he did. He was just a database guy, and the fact that the search indexes he managed were mostly variations of sexual perversion was irrelevant to managing the underlying databases. He said that if you worked at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and lusted after all of the millions of brand new dollars you were printing every day, then you were in the wrong business. He said likewise, if you are into porn and find the content of the databases distracting, you shouldn't work at pornhub.
What I found striking about Jenn's meeting with the board is that while she offered perhaps a dozen examples of why she was a great employee in her own eyes and always went above and beyond, none of them had anything to do with actually being the business manager. None. She talked about how much she loved co-hosting. And how important her own multi-part "Mormon story" was that she'd just recorded. And producing. And becoming a counselor or coach or whatever with the training she was doing. And producing podcasts. And the YouTube stuff. But all of that has to do with her wanting to be on the stage, or at least as close to the stage as possible. She wanted to be in the middle of the action. To be famous. To directly connect with people. That's all fine an good, but it has nothing to do with being the business manager behind the scenes that keeps the business aspects flowing smoothly.
It seems John was willing to train "the right person" as business manager and to him, "the right person" is a Mormon Stories fan who is dedicated to the cause. It seems to me that is the opposite of "the right person" for the business manager role.

There’s something wrong with the way this forum handles the links. They work fine when I copy them from RFM’s website.jpatterson wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 5:34 pmWhy are these docs offline?drumdude wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 10:00 pm

Yep! Bingo. I think this can be said for a number of the disgruntled. They thought they were hitching themselves to John's meager star for their own ends. It didn't work out for them, and then they got sore. Jenn Kamp obviously wanted to launch herself as a social media, life coaching phenomenon. She doesn't seem to have been quite as interested in actually doing the job she was initially hired to do.Analytics wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 5:38 pmWhat I found striking about Jenn's meeting with the board is that while she offered perhaps a dozen examples of why she was a great employee in her own eyes and always went above and beyond, none of them had anything to do with actually being the business manager. I wonder why John keeps hiring women like that.
Given the history with Rosebud…
Oh and in case anyone missed it even Maven was falling short of John’s expectations. Maven is who John and Jenn were to meet that day they blew up.
