What you call "critical thinking" is actually "The Gospel According To Marg".
Bond...James Bond wrote:The acknowledgement that the Book of Mormon is historic crap is the first step and shows at least some common sense. Hopefully Ray will do a bit more critical thinking in the future. A step at a time. A step at a time.

I consider many of the stories in the Bible to be inspired as well. For example, I find the story of Joseph being sold into Egypt, then rising to be second in command over all Egypt, then rescuing his family from a famine, to be inspired. It inspires me. Don't worry about marg, she will never understand this, and I very much doubt she's even read the Bible. Her forté is being critical of things she has not read.

Let's not go off on tangents of the Bible for the moment.
What do you mean by the Book of Mormon is inspired. By whom, by what, how, at what point did it become inspired etc. What do you base your belief on that the Book of Mormon is inspired? Did a god work through J.Smith to produce the Book of Mormon? by the way, at issue is NOT what inspires you but that the Book of Mormon you believe is inspired.

Tempting questions, but I know exactly where it's going, so I'll pass.
Rollo Tomasi wrote: C'mon folks, Plutarch is pulling our collective leg. Not long ago he was representing himself as a bishop, dropping names of his GA buddies, etc., etc., etc. He goes, he goes. Don't fall for it, gang.
The rush for the cliff has already begun. To late to stop it nowwww...ww...ww.

I would have quoted you Ray because you have answered these questions on this board in the past but we no longer have those explanations of yours to refer to. I thought it best I let you explain for Bond in your words what you base your belief on, that the Book of Mormon is inspired which we both know by that you mean God inspired not solely that it inspires you. Perhaps your critical thinking skills are improving given that you think it best not to go there.

Since the quote was lost I'll give it to you again: I believe the Book of Mormon is Divinely Inspired, ie. God inspired.
Of course plutarch may be pulling our legs. I've realized that for a long time. If he is, well, then he has a twisted sense of humor, because there really are people who suffer from autism or obsessive compulsive disorders that incapacitate their lives.
But at any rate, I decided to play it safe and take him at his word in case he was sincere and truly suffering. I haven't lost anything by doing so.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

I don't know. As has already been stated, lots of Mormons are die-hard believers but are simply inactive for one reason or another. I chose to give Plutarch the benefit of the doubt on this one. Let's face it: We all know he's 100% TBM, but how can we know if he actually attends his ward or not?

"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"
