Help me out here, why me: Why was Lyndon Lamborn excommunicated, but Richard Bushman wasn't?

(Also, Pokatator: What makes you think that Lyndon Lamborn and Samuel the Utahnite are one and the same?)
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

My bad, Dr. Shades, I see now that it is only the Lyndon Lamborn article featured on Samuel the Utahnite's blog. Most of this stuff, blogs, youtube, and the like is quite new to me, I'm like a kid in candy shop.

I apologize to everyone and especially Lyndon if he sees this.

PS I kind of like Samuel's blog though. Still truth from what I have read so far.

Can someone give me an example of a statement that an active member can make about Joseph Smith and his practice of polygamy that could be considered false doctrine and deemed worthy of excommunication?

And he seems to like youtube

All and all, it still is just the truth.

And in my Jack Nicholsen voice, speaking to the Church, "Truth, you can't handle the truth!!"

edited: nevermind, apparently it wasn't Lamborn's youtube video page, but rather someone else's. Thing is, whoever's page it is, it's not very convincing. Simply pointing out that in a church of 12 million members of record, most of whom aren't active, there are some who get arrested for crimes, isn't demonstrating that the church isn't true.

Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Does it even matter? I thought it was hilarious that Why Me included the fact that he was smiling in the photo to indicate something negative about him. Ok, so he got excommunicated. I realize that to some LDS his life is supposed to be pure dogs*** from now on, and he's supposed to be miserable and really miss "the Spirit", so that he feels driven to repent, with tears and sackcloth and ashes, but in fact, he doesn't even think the church is true now, and besides, someone pointed a camera at him and probably said "cheese!". Who wouldn't smile for that?

I still get a kick outta statements like this:

''...was informed he was no longer a church member, could not enjoy any membership privileges, including the wearing of temple garments and the payment of tithes and offerings.”

It does seem outrageously heavy-handed. I smile everytime someone takes my picture (unless I'm making moody self portraits) and I'm sure I talked about every discrepancy I found in church doctrine or history to every person I knew while I was a member. I'm sure I blabbed to more people than just my brothers, too. Not only did this never cross my mind as an excommunicatable offense, but I'd bet it would never have crossed the mind of any of bishop back then. Seems to me that this is just more evidence that "the church" has gotten and continues to get, worse and worse.

Good golly, back in my day no body had to carry their scriptures around with them to meetings (for what purpose??), nor did anyone have a contiption when guy's showed up tieless and/or in non-white shirts. Nor was baptism some kind of three-ring circus of celebratory insanity akin to a wedding...

*sigh*
