Wearing shirts, being in a car and 'going to party's and disco dancing' can also be 'too sexy'. By far...
...refer to Right Said Fred for more details...
I don't remember them mentioning Mormonism though...

...ermm - ok - I'll stop now.
To seriously address the OP - it would have been far easier for me to continue living 'a Mormon life' past my doubts of it's truthfulness.
Much much much easier. In so many ways...

I think if one's heart is genuine and their mind set in the right place, it would not be hard to be anything because that would be who you are. I actually think I was more like a Mormon before re-activating. I do not try to be anything else other than I am. It just happens to be that I have similar standards to that of the church on many things. So it's not hard. It is hard if that is not who you are and you are trying to be someone you are not. Like I am trying not to fluctuate all over the place and channel my thoughts and this is extremely difficult for me. Or maybe disipline myself so that I am not processing a hundred things at one. But for single track minded people this is easy because that is who they are. And that is the best way to be. God gave us certain charactoristics, some to challenge us to work at things and some to help others and probably a multiple number of other reasons incomprehendable to us at this moment. So the best answer I can give is, it depends on who you are as a person.

I'm with Blixa. Being a good Mormon is too easy. Going to meetings a few times a week and learning the same things over and over and over again, watching general conference and hearing the same things over and over and over again. Saying you believe (insert name) is a true prophet over and over and over again. Reading the same scriptures over and over again. It's really not that hard. Monotonous and boring? Of course, but not difficult. And even if you aren't keeping the commandments, you just have to give the appearance of righteousness and answer all the questions right (we all know the correct answers, duh) to get a temple recommend.

And if you're doing that, you might be shooting for the Terrestrial......maybe even the Telestial. Doing the feeble things the Church asks is simple and here's one man who is not impressed:
"...Now those men, or those women, who know no more about the power of God, and the influences of the Holy Spirit, than to be led entirely by another person, suspending their own understanding, and pinning their faith upon another's sleeve, will never be capable of entering into the celestial glory, to be crowned as they anticipate; they will never be capable of becoming Gods. They cannot rule themselves, to say nothing of ruling others, but they must be dictated to in every trifle, like a child. They cannot control themselves in the least, but James, Peter, or somebody else must control them. They never can become Gods, nor be crowned as rulers with glory, immortality, and eternal lives. They never can hold sceptres of glory, majesty, and power in the celestial kingdom. Who will? Those who are valiant and inspired with the true independence of heaven, who will go forth boldly in the service of their God, leaving others to do as they please, determined to do right, though all mankind besides should take the opposite course. Will this apply to any of you? Your own hearts can answer." (JD 1:312)
