As opposed to strong drink (distilled spirits), mild drinks made from barley are apparently just fine for man - and it wasn't talking about Postum.
Would you please STOP saying the exact same thing I did only more understandably. I know my lame sense of humour impairs my ability to communicate well at times, but Im too old to stop now. ;-P
Or at least don't start your post with the word "Actually" when you are agreeing with what I said.

Whatever happened to "I teach them correct principles and let them govern themselves"?
Gone when convenient.

You know, I hated when the church did this for Prop 22 years ago, and I hate it even more now. Just butt the hell out, I say.
I hated it when they did it for the ERA. Well, not when.. but now!
Yup. Me too.

Principle: Homosexuality is an abomination in the sight of God.
Act on this Principle how you see fit.

If we aren't going to listen to the guidance of the prophets, then what's the point of being a member?
Oh dear... so which is it?
Obey the prophet?
Or follow your personal revelation/inspiration?
It sounds like you are suggesting that, "once the prophet speaks the speaking has been done".
I know for a fact there are members whose personal views are not aligned with the church stance regarding this issue... should they listen to their own inspiration or disregard their personal revelation and obey the prophet?

Oops, but you said "ice cold beer", when many of the early Saints were British, and you know what that means....
Warm beer! Yeah, and that was OK with Joseph Smith too. ;-)
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Ok, I swear to God, angels, and these witnesses on this message board, never to marry another man, nor to manipulate his naughty bits. How's that? I'm 100% perfectly fine with opposing the practice of homosexuality in my own life. What part of what you said obligates me to attempt to impose my aversion against gay sex on the other 7 billion people in this world?

You know, you could have been channeling your avatar with that part. As i read it, I was hearing Graham (RIP) in my head.
Did you ever see the reunion show where they brought out Grahams ashes to join them on stage?
Warm beer! Yeah, and that was OK with Joseph Smith too. ;-)
I thought he was a wino .. wasn't he drinking wine when he got into the gunfight?? .
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it. Nehor.. Nov 08, 2010
Wow, at your suggestion, I just read those words again in my head using the voice of Graham Chapman, and you're right, it totally fits. That's awesome!
No, unfortunately I've never seen that reunion that you mentioned. Too bad, as I love Monty Python. Chapman was probably my favorite Python though, along with Michael Palin. Speaking of which, have you ever watched Michael Palin's traveling around the world show?
