I'll do the line by line thing:

thanks

You're doing teh internez wrong.

So essentially you don't know.

Gad knows I'm male and younger than him as well as anyone can without meeting me and performing a physical examination while they have a professional examine my birth certificate for forgery.

It'd have to be a really elaborate put-on for this not to be the case.
I can't be so generous with you.

Gad is very bright and knowledgeable. If you can't tell this yourself, you might be able to get a sense of it through the respect he receives from the other bright, knowledgeable posters.

but certainly I got the impression E.A. looked up to you, as a role model on M.B's.

I don't see Gad as a role model. More of a brother who happens to be older, if we are reaching to family metaphors. Of course, I like his posting a great deal, for the most part. Good combo of wit, insight, and background knowledge. Perhaps a bit overly humble. He also probably could stand to appreciate what aliases are for more and not post when hanging out with Jack Daniels, but nobody's perfect.

We all know your attitude towards JAK. You don't have the class he has, that's for sure.

I'll turn this around to say that even when you were still a believing member, I kept finding myself with most of your perspective and points --I used to post as Bach, by the way -- and obviously that's only increased now that we're on the same page about the Church.

All you need do is clarify whether you are female or male..I don't need to know what you think Gad knows.

Gad is very bright and knowledgeable. If you can't tell this yourself, you might be able to get a sense of it through the respect he receives from the other bright, knowledgeable posters.

It depends on whether I respect them or not. You I have some respect for, because you actually do attempt to engage people with differing views to yourself and you don't try to sound witty in the process.

I thought that was priceless the time he posted drunk and everyone responding, except you couldn't tell and treated his post seriously. This is news to me that Gad is older than many of the posters such as yourself. I thought of him on 2 think as a young punk..mid to late 20's. So on here that would make him mid 30's to late 30's. So I'm out to lunch on this, I suppose.

Cetainly JAK wouldn't take shots at someone who is not involved in a thread. As far as plagiarism, I've read enough posts by JAK to appreciate he rarely relies on other's words. But frankly on the net to occasionally use someone else's words and not attribute source is not a big deal. For the most part what people write is not their own creative ideas anyhow. I'm sure oftentimes what you write are the ideas of philosopher's who you've read and you don't attribute source. If JAK was a poor writer and thinker and then plagiarized I'd think he was being disingenuous trying to make himself sound better. But JAK is quite articulate, and he's shown that consistently.

I relate to a lot of people here, but honestly I often feel like I'm the least intelligent and substantive poster here (well, at least until Droopy or Will post something).

Awesome. Do you think, maybe, just maybe, Gad knows my gender and age because, among other things, I've told it to him? Do you further think that what I wrote above might logically imply something about if what Gad said is correct, and if so, what that means about my gender and age?

Doesn't this have something to do with those critical thinkin' skillz you go on about?

I'd like to think I try to sound witty at times. And what would be wrong with that? Anyway, look at the posters that know and respect Gad. Tarski, The Dude, Beastie, Analytics, etc. Notice a pattern? There's a reason for that.

Jak doesn't just copy and paste websites and forget to add a link in haste. He's also not just paraphrasing others' ideas without mentioning the inspiration. Jak goes to websites, takes selective passages, intersperses them with his own writing while adding his own minor, usually bad edits to those passages, and passes them off as his own. He does it frequently. It's not hard to tell when he is plagiarizing. Just look for when his writing sounds coherent and intelligent, or original in a good way, do a simple websearch, and you'll find out where he's stealing it from. Because, honestly, he's incredibly inarticulate when he's not stealing someone else's words. I almost feel vicarious embarrassment for you because you can't see how you've been duped by him. Professor of logic? Honestly. Think.

I relate to most everyone on the board in one way or another.

Some posters are really brilliant and help me expand my mind and deepen my understanding; some are full of wisdom and give me guidance and insight as I continue on my journey; some make me laugh, some make me shake my head, and some get me rethinking my thoughts and ideas.

I look up to and respect many posters. Some posters I find totally enjoyable and delightful. Sometimes I read a post and notice how someone said exactly what I would have liked to say but couldn't express it. And other times I find myself contemplating something I have never yet considered.

I have "known" many posters for years and years, some have accompanied and/or supported me as I departed from Mormonism, and then there are new friends I have made along the way. There are some I admire from afar, some I have grown to care for, and others who I have just met and am getting to know.

I've had the pleasure of meeting many posters (critics and apologists alike) in real life, and have to say, there is not a one I do not enjoy.

Don't be ridiculous. You're nothing if not intelligent and substantive!

Well did you tell Gad? All you have to do is say whether you are male or female. I appreciate I wouldn't know for certain even if you did say, but at least it would be coming from you rather from others who as I've said may be assuming. I'd rather not make assumptions if you don't mind. The benefit would simply be when referring to you I wouldn't feel inclined to say he/she.

I'd like to think I try to sound witty at times. And what would be wrong with that? Anyway, look at the posters that know and respect Gad. Tarski, The Dude, Beastie, Analytics, etc. Notice a pattern? There's a reason for that.

Nothing wrong with being witty. The criticism I have is when one is consistently being jokingly condescending in lieu of serious discussion.

I almost feel vicarious embarrassment for you because you can't see how you've been duped by him. Professor of logic? Honestly. Think.

Of all the people on the Net who I have read their discussions particularly with religious individuals he is one of the rare ones who I've seen actually engages in a way the other person doesn't feel insulted and they often respond in ways in which it indicates he has gotten them to question, re-evaluate in ways they hadn't done previously.

I've been banned several times from the MAD Board (various sockpuppets). At the end the only thing keeping me coming back was reading the posts from CinePro. No question...Cinepro.

Relate to? I don't know. At times I have felt a certain simpatico with Ray A.
