Hi folks,

In response to an email that I sent Kevin on 27 March, he just replied to let me know that he's on the road to recovery. He evidently had a concussion (not in a coma)—likely a miscommunication stemming from English being an ancillary language for his wife.

He can only type with one hand, but he appears in good spirits.

Kind regards,

</brent>

He is on his computer in the hospital? This isn't an early April Fools day joke, is it?

It's different in Brazil -- more like the old west. You can have a shotgun or computer in the hospital bed with you. It's all cool.

Hi Brent,

Thanks for the update. It is good to hear that Kevin wasn't in a coma, and that he is now recovering.

I am so embarrassed about this.

I had no idea she started contacting peopleon the forums. But she was alone at the time and felt the need to do something so I guessshe went fishing for prayers.

I had a concussion I wasn't in a coma. As I explained to Brent she hasa tendency to exagerrate especially whenit comes to family medicalissues. If our kids get a headache she wants them tosee a neurologist because she feels it might be something more severe. As she explained to me while contacting Runtu she was hysterical typing messages to numerous people at once so I think messages got crossed and then something lost in translation She isn't familiar with message forums at all so she just started clicking on names sending private messages towhoever she saw.

I appreciate everyone's expressed concerns. I am no longer in the hospital and I should be up and running soon enough.

And no this was not a bad Aprils fools joke. I should hope im not that much of a jackass.

Kevin,

Good to hear from you, and glad to hear you're okay. Unfortunately, your injury caused you to miss some extremely juicy Will Schryver material, but, I'm sure you'll be up to speed in no time.

Hi Kevin,

You could have at least waited until April 1st to confuse us a little more. Image

I'm glad you're on the mend.

My apologies for failing to mention your appreciation to "those who offered hopes and prayers" (I'm sure your appreciation even extends to those of Daniel Peterson—who, by the way, graciously offered you well wishes on MAD).

Warm regards,

Glad to hear that you are home, Kevin. As irreligious as I am, the news even had me praying for ya. I am also glad that you aren't "that much of a jackass." But to be honest (and I think we'd all agree), I'd much rather you be a Jackass than in a coma.

Kevin,

I'm glad you're doing OK. I was worried about you. Please tell your wife I am sorry for being a little hesitant. I really wasn't sure if I was dealing with your wife or with someone who wanted to mess with us here. I'm relieved to hear that it wasn't as serious as I had thought.
