Because the pirate is taking 100% of the work, not acknowledging the creator, hurting the work's market value, competing directly with the creator or licensed users of the work, and for other reasons.

So if you are a photo pirate, do not even think about the fair use doctrine. In your context it is a myth. Your lawyer will laugh at you, and the judge might not have a sense of humor where thievery is concerned.

If you are implying that you are an attorney, then you are the stupidest attorney the world has ever seen. Most lawyers would understand how to use the quote feature on this board.

I have a question. In this post by Belmont, personal attack was deleted. Now, I didn't view the personal attack content so I might be out to lunch here. I'm assuming that Belmont referred to Joseph as a dumbass or something. If that is the case, then why aren't these types of remarks by Joseph considered personal attacks?

well bedsheets, your lack of understanding is showing. Copyright protection extends to original works. There is nothing original about a copyright notice such as the jgoil has posted.

jbabe, what is "original" in your copyright notice that would raise it to any level of copyright protection??? Just like a voters list or phone book, it is not subject to protection.

well [attack deleted], read some of the links on fair use and learn something.

Problem with most photos is that posting on here does not fall under that small umbrella - even if the #1 son lawyer claims it does.

Read some of the links, take a good look at what is posted and how and draw your own conclusions.

Trouble with most here is that you have not read the pages and pages of information on copyright. It would pay you to do so.

Hope you don't work for one of the Utah/Intermountain law offices that has some business with l-dsinc or you won't be able to represent shades when they hit this site with DMCA takedown notices and legal action.
