It just happened to coincide with a time where they were spending more than they were taking in.

I believe it was in the late fifties after it became abundantly clear to one and all that the Church funds were being mismanaged.

Maybe so. But the TBMs are there because of their faith and belief. The mormonleaks people are there for sad reasons: bitterness, envy, hatred, evil, faith busting, etc. I can think of better sensations and reasons to engage with life.

You could say the same of the Church of Scientology. Blessed from god? Maybe so.

maybe so. But the LDS church has not many active members, many members are poor as birdseed and yet, through smart investments it is a very successful and rich organization.

LDS tend to be middle class. And they give 1/10 of gross to the church - quite a lot more than is required in other churches, barring Scientology.

Some of their investments are smart - and why not? The church is run by businessmen. But they got taken to the showers during the recession, just like everyone else.

I don't know...could it be that people like you who have such bitterness and hatred in their heart toward the LDS church would do a bitch no matter what?

I have known you for a long time Uncle Dale. I remember your first posts on the FAIR site. But can I ask you a question? Wouldn't it be better for you to forget this Mormon thing you have and just relax and enjoy the sun and fruit that may come your way? If I were you, I would be butt watching on the beach with a nice diet coke just enjoying the beautiful sites that may walk by.

The full annual accounts of the the Corporation of the President
have never been disclosed, to my knowledge. There used to be
some occasional summaries circulated (published?) -- but I haven't
seen that sort of thing in decades.

The Deseret News is mostly now on the web -- so I'd advise some
careful reading of "Church News" sections from the 1920s and
1930s, for what I suppose were less restricted flows of financial
and business information.

Anybody have access to a recent CoP Annual Report?

Have you seen the financial situation of LDS members in Russia? Not good. And it is that way in many parts of the world. Not much comes in from tithing aboard.
