Re: From My Informant: The Perils of Socialcam
I disagree with Dan often as it regards arguments related to the LDS Church. But I believe what Dan wrote about this. Seems reasonable enough to me. But I am also uncomfortable with the idea that anyone would use this to make a judgment on his character, honesty, apologetics, etc. The whole thing just kind of rubs me the wrong way (no pun). Although I believe, personally, that Dan has no regular desire to view this kind of thing, and believe his explanation fully, even if it were otherwise, so what? No doubt many here were once full believers who also liked J-Lo's ass. And that is inconsistent how?
edited to add: I should note, however, that I think the way the LDS Church treats men as it regards "porn" is pathetic and unrealistic and, candidly, ultimately harmful.

I bear you my testimony that Pitbull is true
He sure gets around in performing with lots of musicians. Not only has he done JLo but also her "til death do us part" buddy Marc Anthony, Neo and a bunch of other stars. I remember reading an article about JLo after Ben Affleck and how she and Marc were a forever couple and how good that felt (i.e. the Spirit) to see that she had finally settled down for good. by the way I heard a rumor that over 14 million of Pitbull's albums have been sold. Anyone getting more than 14 million numbers must be true ;)

Am I the only one who didn't know that "Pitbull" is a human being?

I have a Facebook account, but don't use it that often. I can see how something like this could happen. If something like that had happened to me, I would be embarrassed, and would have likely said something. I have work colleagues who are friends of mine on Facebook, and that is something that I would be concerned about from just a common reputation standpoint.
Still, for what it's worth, Dan, if you are reading this here, I don't think it is that big of a deal. I am sure that your friends and colleagues know what type of person you are, and that this was a crazy mishap.
It does give one pause. I am going to have to monitor my Facebook account more carefully. It looks like we all should; it sounds like it is becoming a little "big brotherish".
The obligatory input from the "I'll back Dan at any cost" backseat cheerleader. Maybe Dan can speak for himself?

Actually, Dan already spoke for himself on Facebook. He is no longer a member of this community by his own choice. I am sure that if he chose to speak for himself here, he could do so. This is not a case of my "backing Dan at any cost" because I do not do that. There are things that I have disagreed with Dan on, and not backed him on. The issue as far as how he treated Eric comes to mind.
It is amazing to me that you are now choosing to pigeon hole me, and painting me with a certain brush simply because you have now chosen to attack me.
I have as much right to comment on this thread as anyone else. And, frankly, I was speaking as someone who also has a Facebook account and is unfamiliar with some of the apps involved like Socialcam.

Of course you have a right to comment, liz. I'll admit, I had the same impression as thews. You do seem to jump to Dan's defence often.
