Which Mormons? Russian Mormons in Russia? Swedish Mormons in Sweden? Finnish Mormons in Finland? German Mormons in Germany? Which Mormons are you writing about?`Mormons are all over the world. And prosperity takes on different connotations culturally.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

How shameful. I for one have always taken a great deal of pride in my humility.

Why me, please stop with the definition shifting already.

The Book of Mormon itself makes clear in multiple places that its definition of "prosperity" means getting more stuff; such as flocks and herds, gold and silver, and all manner of precious things. Helaman 3:36 equates "prosperity" with "great riches."

Your talk of prosperity taking on "different connotations culturally" makes me "begin to doubt the equivocation of the fiend that lies like truth."

Another end of story:

- Have You any negative attribute?
- Yes, I am lying sometimes. OK, often. Well, always.
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

And Helaman 3:24-26 gives a different definition to prosperity. And in Helaman 3:36 prosperity became something evil. So, what is your point?

Have you ever been abroad when these chapters were discussed? I have. Trust me, very few europeans or asians equate prosperity in a positive way since it leads to pride and envy. And no one equates righteousness with such wealth. You need to step out of your american shoes.

Speaking as a European, living in Europe as part of an active European Mormon family, European Ward and European Stake. I can categorically state that yes, Europeans equate wealth with righteousness within the Church. What I mean is that the wealthy members are viewed as more righteous by those with more meagre means.

Of course this means Why Me is talking out of his ass....

Putting him in good company with Balaam's angel, I suppose.

And somewhat fitting in that the word translated angel in the original Hebrew is sa'tan.

Or at least that's what I'm told.

You know, Europeans who join a strange American religion like the CoJCoLDS are, well, possibly a bit unusual, shall we say?
