Do you really believe Marlin K. Jensen supports all those things?
If not, is MKJ then actually a Democrat?
I don't know why he identifies with the democrat party. I do know people who are socially conservative (pro-choice, oppose gay marriage, etc) but are democrats because they believe the republicans are the party of the rich, and the democrats are the party of the poor and working class. They support government programs for the poor, and therefore align themselves with the democrat party. I suppose that would make them socialists in your mind, but I doubt any bishop or SP would deny them a temple recommend because of it.

Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Why should the US cater to the Bible??? That is ridiculous.

Might be okay if he publically spoke out against it, but then there would be the uncomfortable (and apostate) matter of supporting them anyway by voting for them. It's a no win damned if you do damned if you don't situation for any LDS person who is a Democrat.
I said reasonable people. Everyone here knows you are not reasonable. I let democrats and republications define themselves instead of defining them the way I want.

One has to admire the lengths to which bcspace will go to shove everything into the neat little black-and-white boxes he has constructed as his reality.
The idea that someone might not be on board with every single plank of their party platform is shocking, isn't it? Last I checked Romney disagrees with the GOP plank about abortion being illegal, no exceptions. He must not be a Republican.
Seriously though--it's a sad statement about Mormonism and conservatives that bcspace and Droopy are the most vocal adherents of both on this board. It's comforting to know that other reasonable people are conservatives--like me--who recognize that life is mostly shades of gray.

I make Glenn Beck look like Ted Kennedy by comparison.
I'm definitely not as socially conservative as the Evangelical right wing of the party but I believe in fiscal conservatism and limited government. According to bcspace that probably makes me a socialist.

Just tell bcspace that he is not on the right side of "conditional" as of yet. He will hammer out many things and like most of the fearful and unbelieving [read Mormons]he will not attempt to be diagnostic about the question of his own righteousness.

Probably not. But you must be as socially conservative as LDS doctrine in order to make it.

This is proof there is a God, ladies and gentlemen. Only divine intervention can explain why the punishing stupidity evident in statements like the above has survived in the face of natural selection.
The real question is should the state validate and benefit such marriages. The answer of course is no ala Romans 1:32.
I think it's just self-explanatory that Equal Protection jurisprudence in the United States should be determined by religious dogma of unknown provenance but attributed to a neurotic ex-Pharisee.
