Re: December Ensign on tithing
All I know is that I have more money than I have ever had in my life...now that I haven't paid tithing in over a year.

I would quit paying tithing but I think they wouldn't let me do patriarchal blessings anymore. Without that amusement, I have no reason to go to church.

Is it really worth $800 a month (or whatever you pay)??? I mean, you could travel the world, pay off the house yearly, etc.
They don't know how much you make. Start paying on your "increase." Pay like a business. After all expenses of running the household.

But then I wouldn't get the blessings.

Same here. If I had kept all of the money I paid in tithing for 30 years, I would be in a whole different world financially speaking.

Re: December Ensign on tithing
Has anyone noticed the unilateral nature of these sacrifices for tithing?
Maybe the Church could have spent a few million dollars less on genetically-engineered fish for City Creek Center, for example, and used that money for ecclesiastical expenses instead, so these starving widows and low-income families could pay a little less tithing and have a little more dinner.
Maybe the Bretheren could take a pay cut so these people can stop going without food to pay their salaries.
