*IHAQ wanders into thread, the piano playing ceases and everyone falls silent and turns round to stare*

*ahem*

*IHAQ slowly backs out of the thread, the piano playing and chatter resumes*
“When we are confronted with evidence that challenges our deeply held beliefs we are more likely to reframe the evidence than we are to alter our beliefs. We simply invent new reasons, new justifications, new explanations. Sometimes we ignore the evidence altogether.” (Mathew Syed 'Black Box Thinking')

In Helaman 6:39, we see the Badmintons, so similar to Skousenite Mormons, taking over the government and abusing the rights of many.

The profit hath spokin.
"...a pious lie, you know, has a great deal more influence with an ignorant people than a profane one."

- Sidney Rigdon, as quoted in the Quincy Whig, June 8, 1839, vol 2 #6.

One of my favorite Irish toasts - For your dear husband!

Health and a long life to you.
Land without rent to you.
A child every year to you.
And if you can't go to heaven,
May you at least die in Ireland.

Peace,
Ceeboo

If it weren't for an Irish Catholic g'grandmother, I might not be Catholic. Studying Mormonism has enabled me to refine my Catholicism.
