Travis Clark, who lives around the street and knew Robertson well, said he learned about the shooting early Wednesday morning. At 6 a.m., his wife got up and carried on with her morning routine. It wasn’t until after the family did their morning prayers that they learned that Robertson had been shot.
Why am I not surprised this is in the Deseret News, in a story tagged "utah" and "police/courts".
Left unsaid: it would clearly have been better to have learned that Robertson had been shot before the family did their morning prayers, so that they could have added him to their pleadings before the lord.
(is that an idiomatic expression in UT - to do prayers, rather than to say prayers? It sounds a bit strange to me. But then, I'm Canadian.)

I read the document. That's a lot of threatening, anyone know what social media he was posting that stuff on?
The FBI agent noted that he went to church and back, and it seems like this guy is active. I have to wonder why the SCMC didn't notice any of this, or that nobody in the ward mentioned it to the Bishop? Very possible a right-wing Bishop who just shrugged the whole thing off and even got a chuckle out of it.

Ironically, it looks like Truth Social is the social media platform that first reported him to the FBI.
Most of the other stuff seems to be posted on Facebook.

Would his opinions be enough to distinguish him from other Utah County ward members unless they knew of specific threats?
You know there are lots of these angry, determined LDS guys from Arizona up through Utah and into Idaho. Especially Idaho.
The Church must realize that their greatest problem is the radical right, the anti-vaxxers, the patriots within. Heresy, feminism and gays in the form of Sterling McMurrin, Sonia Johnson and Michael Quinn and others was not the greatest threat to the Church that Elder Packer warned us about 35 years ago. It is looking much more likely that the Church's alignment with the religious right, the Republican Party and, inevitably, the extreme right -- especially after the Civil Rights Movement -- has done the real damage. There is an angry, restive and potentially violent right wing in the Mormon Church. Good luck, Bretheren.
Why did we ever align ourselves with Reagan and Falwell, with political activism, anti-intellectualism, too literal readings of scripture, and a narrow definition of marriage that excludes so many?

A lot of church members were Birchers, my dad being one of them. Once ETB ascended to the throne the deed was done.
The family is shocked and devastated per KSL. To borrow a phrase these types like to say to minorities, just comply with the cops and you won't have any problems. The neighbor said she could hear him refusing to leave his home when asked by authorities. We will never know, but I wonder if the guy mentally thought they were coming to take him away to a re-education camp or something. It's just unfortunate that while it seems many of his neighbors and ward members were ignorant of his social media posts, those that did just brushed them off.

Just follow the northbound Interstate 15 and then 30 miles to the east and west and you will find DezNats all over the place. It’s Southern California via Arizona, and Utah through Idaho and end up into Canada. In East Idaho, There are high-rise trucks with people displaying old confederate flags.
They burn rubber, spinning in circles.
A “Let’s go Brandon” flag flies in a neighbors yards..
I really wanted to go up to the guy in the truck wearing the early confederate flag and tell him to put on a white t shirt because the white flag was held up high for those who took part in the rebellion surrendered.
Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
