Simply that there are conflicting views and responses in Mormon history as to Joseph's involvement in polygamy. Different folks have different views on whether he did or he didn't. It's a mixed bag. She accepts the evidence that aligns with her belief that Joseph couldn't have participated in polygamy and disregards or underrates the evidence that shows that he did.
I think she is sincere in whatever beliefs she has.
