gdemetz wrote:Drifting, you have to take everything in context. The scritures also state that the Lord saveth such as have a contrite spirit. So, if your wive fusses at you and you are contrite, does that mean you are saved?!? One thing that is required in putting the great puzzle of scriptures together is common sense.

Gdemetz, I don't believe the scriptures were designed to be some kind of "David Vinci Code Codex" type puzzle that we need to select several from differing books and era's to piece together what Christ wants us to understand. Instead I think they are designed to be "plain" and "simple" which, if I'm not mistaken, is exactly what the Church teaches.

The only time they become 'out of context' or 'a puzzle to be solved' is when they don't say what you want them to say.

This is not that complicated Drifting. If you breaks his temple covenant, it is still possible that he may be redeemed after such punishment listed, which is only fair, however, if he does not repent, he can never enter into the celestial kingdom! Many scriptures are quite clear about this!

I'm so grateful to be in a win-win situation.

1. I was sealed in the temple according to the holy spirit of promise, and I have never shed innocent blood. So even though I have to put up with the buffetings of Satan for a while right now, I have a one-way ticket to the Celestial Kingdom, and I can commit all manner of blasphemies that I want.

2. If David Whitmer's powerful witness (which he never denied to his dying day) is true that Joseph Smith was a fallen prophet, then nothing the LDS Church says matters.

Either way, I win! Isn't Heavenly Father's plan of happiness wonderful, gdemetz?

No anti will ever win. Remember, any ordinance has to be ratifies by the Holy Spirit who will not ratify anti's ordinances without sincere repentance!

It was ratified by the Holy Spirit, gdemetz. All the people who came to my sealing said they felt the Spirit very strongly. As long as I don't murder anyone, I am home free. And I'm also home free if David Whitmer was right. I win!

By the way, here is D&C 132: http://www.LDS.org/scriptures/dc-testam ... 2?lang=eng

In your next post, please specify which verse says that a man and woman who are sealed need to repent at any time in order to make it into the Celestial Kingdom. While you're finding that, here's where the Lord says unequivocally that being sealed to your spouse is the ultimate get-out-of-jail-free card:

26 Verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man marry a wife according to my word, and they are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, according to mine appointment, and he or she shall commit any sin or transgression of the new and everlasting covenant whatever, and all manner of blasphemies, and if they commit no murder wherein they shed innocent blood, yet they shall come forth in the first resurrection, and enter into their exaltation; but they shall be destroyed in the flesh, and shall be delivered unto the buffetings of dSatan unto the day of eredemption, saith the Lord God.

The buffetings of Satan aren't so bad, by the way. They're better than Golden Corral, and at least as good as Chuck-a-Rama.

There's no escape from the words given to Joseph Smith in the revelation now recorded as Doctrine and Covenants Section 132 verse 26.

Unless, gdemetz, you are saying Joseph wasn't a Prophet...you're not I take it?

Do You believe gdemetz can answer anything?
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

Nope. The words of the Lord to the Prophet Joseph Smith are crystal clear. You know that golden ticket Charlie got in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? It's like that, except to the Celestial Kingdom. Unless I murder someone, I am home free. Isn't it wonderful? Isn't it marvelous?

I don't no never misquote nobody. (got it?)
At all times I quote somebody (or nobodies like gdemetz) I use the quote feature.
