FARMS says otherwise, per its 1998 Form 990, big guy.

From the very first post, this thread has been about the tax form.

And has been duely noted about 20 times the tax return does not prove DCP receveid direct payment and in fact if as he testifies, it went to BYU the tax form is in fact correct.

You cannot win this based on the 990 alone. Just saying over and over you are just going by what the form says is disingenuous. You have to add that you believe DCP is lying about not receiving it. Oh and by the way you keep bringing up Schedule A that is answered no. I already have shown you that BYU is not one of the types of organizations that you need to say yes to.

Let me clarify one point. The payment of the $20,400 may not have been paid directly to Dr Peterson for his work as chairman at FARMS. It may have been paid to BYU since Dr Peterson asserts he did not receive it, and the 990 is thus prepared correctly. But someone does think the $20,400 was paid for Dr. Peterson's time as board chair even if it did go to BYU. At least that is how I read the form 990. It seems that we may have some semantics that needed to be clarified. Now whether the $20,400 was really for his time as Chair or for other activities seems irrelevant really for my argument. I am saying I believe him when he says he did not get $20400 in his pocket directly for the work.

Even if you are correct in terms of how the money traveled to DCP's pocket (i.e., that FARMS paid $20,400 for DCP's services as board chair via his BYU check), the fact remains that DCP was paid $20,400 for his services as board chair of FARMS.

Let me clarify my position. Schedule A to the 1998 Form 990 in question states: "Daniel C. Peterson -- Board Chair -- [home address deleted] -- 20,400.00." No connection is made to BYU (unlike other board members and officers). No connection in the Form 990 is made to DCP other than as "Board Chair" (other than his receiving an honorarium of $1,000, but it doesn't say for what). I have never said that the $20K was "extra" (as DCP seems to believe), but simply that FARMS paid $20,400 that DCP may have (or may not have) received in his BYU paycheck, which sum FARMS states related to DCP's role as "Board Chair." Whether FARMS paid the $20,400 directly to DCP or indirectly to DCP (through BYU) is immaterial, in my opinion. FARMS, in fact, paid $20,400 to DCP for his services as "Board Chair."

Mini-Scartch, though obsessively persistent (in the manner common to chronic Scartcholeptics), is persistently wrong.

I was never paid $20,000.00 per year, nor anything even close to that figure, for my services as chairman of the FARMS board.

Ok

But it does not matter. If it was paid to another organization for his time then it is to be listed as paid to hime directly.

No connection is made to BYU (unlike other board members and officers).

It does not have to be. Just because it was for others is not a cause and affect.

No connection in the Form 990 is made to DCP other than as "Board Chair" (other than his receiving an honorarium of $1,000, but it doesn't say for what).

Still if paid to BYU this is a correct presentation.

I have never said that the $20K was "extra" (as DCP seems to believe), but simply that FARMS paid $20,400 that DCP may have (or may not have) received in his BYU paycheck, which sum FARMS states related to DCP's role as "Board Chair."

Wrong. It could have been paid to BYU for his time and NOT paid to DCP.
