"...and the beat goes on, and the beat goes on..."

This thread, I think, is a real winner. Check it out:

Bukowski

So I wish we could get over the words all all get together and sing "Kumbaya", but unfortunately, that ball is not completely in the Mormon court by any means.

I hope that url works. It has been a while. The thread is entitled: An Inconsistency in Evangelical Doctrine? (or in someone's head?)

That was a fun rainy afternoon, or part of it anyway. Thanks mfbukowski.

A truly all American bigot, jmordecai:
That said, if you really want to see abuse of children by homosexuals, just start promoting adoption and loosening adoption rules for homosexual males. That would not be pretty.

He's a barrel of laughs, Spurven:

Mordecai wrote:I've talked to the intellectual elites about this, and while they are happy to have drones follow their lead, they admit that their are relevant differences between gay unions and a marriage. Intellectual elites, being lawyers and such, people that have a real grasp on logic and know when to back down from a fight they can't possibly win.

True Frenchmen kiss both cheeks, taking four times as long as a single cheek. Don't even get them started on lips.

I wonder if usu78's daughters are sexually active.

Education is the best preventative for unplanned and unwanted pregnancies
That gets asserted a bunch . . . yet I've never seen any actual evidence that education, other than in-home and Church teachings, has had much effect on teenage pregnancy numbers.

He should come over here, where there is no such thing as abstinence only education. Our teen pregnancy rates are among the lowest in the world.

One of the things Will Schryver likes best about General Conference:

Cuddling with one of my daughters during part of a session; stroking her hair and brow; massaging her scalp, temples, neck and shoulders; conveying my love for her through the gentle touch of my hands. (My wife has a tradition of squeezing lotion all over her hands and massaging the children’s feet. It always fills me with emotion to watch her, and reminds me of the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.)

Yes, you are. This is made up. It has to be. I refuse to believe that this is real.

IF God is perfectly just, and He helps you with a test, THEN it's not cheating because God would never cheat.

Seriously though, cheating is defined by the person giving the exam. In some circumstances a teacher might allow notes or an open book and in another circumstance, they might not. What constitutes cheating isn't whether or not outside help is used but whether or not the teacher is alright with it being used.

I'm confident in saying that no teacher exists who would care if someone prayed for divine assistance before a test. Either the teacher doesn't believe in God and therefore finds the practice useless, or he does believe in God and would welcome students interacting with Him in a personal manner.

Therefore, if the teacher doesn't consider a prayer before a test to be cheating, it's not. Plain and simple.

Oh my.

Bluebell has gone off the deep end. And CV75 is not far behind!

Funny thread, LDST. (Isn't Pahoran just a riot to argue with?)
