All the problems posters here have with MA&D would not be problems if they would simply follow the rules. And one thing that seems to be be over the head of many (not ALL) who have been banned is that they simply cannot discriminate between criticism and insults. If they would learn that one little trick, they could post there.

OH, just to be clear. I am not a MA&D mod, I don't sugest to the mods who to ban. I am peon in the MA&D ranks.

I have never insulted anyone, and I have been suspended twice. I have been called many unsavory and unchristian things while posting there, and my attackers have never been penalized.

You forgot to use the smilies, Bob. ;)

Considering how you feel about MAD, you really can't be serious here.

Banned from getting out, or getting in?

They keep changing that "prevail against it" stuff, so it's hard to know which way gates swing.

I suppose so, at least from someone in your hell-bound position.

No, that's Juliann's official trademarked position.

I realised today on the bus why I was banned. Some nugget put a link to a youtube video. It was of the prophet and a monster jumped out. I almost had a heart attack I froze. I shouted at the dude and swore a few times. He deserved it though. Ok maybe he didn't all that much. Shocking. I am LDS by the way.

Well...one other trick that might be useful is to avoid feuding with Juliann at all costs. ;)

The trouble is that not only are the rules frequently open to capricious interpretation, but they are applied without equity for offenders or with consideration to the degree of offense.

Harmony, do you have any suggestions as to how to avoid these feuds?

Do not point out her inability to distinguish between an official transcript and notes from a member of the audience. And don't call her a liar, even when she's lying in her teeth. And do not provide documentation of said lies. Do not point out how long she's been in college. Do not comment on her or her friends' inability to live their religion.

That's a good start, anyway! (nice leaf, lil penguin ;-) )

I am glad you popped in, Kevin.

Yea, I'm sure you're just thrilled.

This is the rule that you have not learned, yet. You can be critical without being rude, mocking, insulting, and crass.

That isn't a rule you idiot, it is a statement of fact. The rule over there is that rudeness won't be tolerated, but that is only in theory. In practice, what really counts as rudeness from a believer is hardly the same thing as that which comes from a critic. For example, believers can accuse critics of lying at the drop of a hat without the slightest worry about being reprimanded. But the second a critic even begins to insinuate - not assert mind you, but merely insinuate - that a believer might have been disingenuous on any level, out come the moderators tearing them a new butthole.

It is really hilarious to watch, but not nearly as hilarious as it is to see people like you so oblivious to the double-standard.

For instance, you could say that there is absolutely no scientific evidence that a First Vision ever occurred. That is miles away from saying that Joseph Smith was a crazy lunatic who had delusions.

But if an apologist accuses a critic of being delusional, there is no righteous indignation expressed by the trigger-happy mods.

You don't get it charity. You never did. You never will.

By the way Bob, I couldn't help but notice you removed your blog and all the discussions therein. They proved too embarassing huh?
