Not at all true. If no repentence was required of Joseph Smith, no repentence can be required of anyone else either. God is no respector of persons. He doesn't play favorites.

What makes you think God required no repentance from Joseph? Joseph gets personally rebuked by God more in the LDS canon than any other individual. He had to repent too.

On the surface it was easy to be a Mormon.

The most difficult part for me was seeing so many puzzle pieces that did not fit the paradigm pile up in a box on a shelf in my mind's closet.

I meant prior to the First Vision. How much higher does a spiritual high go, than a personal visit from God? Yet Joseph had not repented.

Where does this weird idea come from that spiritual experiences somehow create superior beings beyond sin?

How in the world do you know what Joseph did and did not repent of?
