"Controlled Environment", that is an UN-DERSTATEMENT.
It is better to call them COWARDS!!!!!!!!!
They(RFM) behave exactly like MADd.....

Haha! Told you you'd be back.

Never tell people on a message board you're leaving. It distracts everyone from whatever point you're trying to make when you come back.

Now... what were you talking about again?
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Would you be kind & forgive my foul language.
(it wasn't relly me, I wrote it over couple tequila shots)

by the way Nightingale,
Yea I'm a whiner, you're damn right.
At least here someone sees I'm whining like a baby.
Over there AT RFM, they just push "Delete" button.
Of course.. I mean.. who the hell am I?
I need to cry and feel so helpless that nobody pays attention to me.
Oh wait I see a great post there by Cheryl....
How stupid, bigoted, over generalized comments she makes
about Mormons...of course your'e right, there is no favoritism....
she's part of the "Team"

And no evidence to back-up my claims?
Now this Q. takes the cake..
How do you suggest me to show you some evidence if they delete them
right off getgo?

Truth be told, I wouldn't trust those idiots anymore than MADd Gorditos.

I didn't write this to hijack Tal's post, Actually I did enjoy reading him, Steve,
many others.
Sorry if I act little pissed. In general I blame them for chasing good writers away.
I also hope this forum will not make the same mistake.

It won't.

Any excuse of censorship is lame.
I wish you all the luck. This place can thrive if we have a small measure of civility.

Oh yeeeeeeaaaaaaah lol

I guess other people's memories on here are better than mine. I kept reading this thread wondering, "when did I say I wasn't going to post here anymore? Last time I posted, it went on forever with Dan Peterson and others about Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn...". Then I remembered freaking out once because - like an idiot - I tried having a sane discussion with a few would-be superhero apologists about Mormonism, and the whole thread got derailed. I admit, that is very frustrating, since church defenders (see Mercury) so often don't seem able to respond to anything you say, and often, sensible folks end up just talking about how dumb the amateur apologists sound...Anyway, for better or for worse, that slipped my mind and I just thought I'd post something, since the last discussion I was in a few months ago (on the CK section), seemed to go pretty well. I presume it's still there if anyone wants to check it out.

Just a few follow up comments:

About RFM: Many of my posts are kind of long, and so, in the interests of readability and sustaining interest, I like having options for italics, underlines, fonts, sizes, and bold. The RFM board had them for a while but then dropped them, which was kind of inhibiting. They're also focused on specifically Mormon issues, but after a while, I kind of felt like I didn't have much to say about Mormonism anymore. Or I guess I should say, it just doesn't dominate your thoughts as it did right after you found out you'd been wrong about everything most important to you (that hurts). Thankfully, the terrible sting begins to wear off after a while.

I'm not sure if I ever got treated like royalty at RFM, to tell everyone the truth. I did get deleted several times.

To Boaz and Lidia - the comments you quoted from me were directed at Mercury, though his silly comments probably don't even deserve recognizing.

About my own view of truth and wanting to know it...Like everyone else, I like to think I can (Col. Jessop voice) "handle the truth"; but our subconsciouses are so powerful, and can have such a censoring effect, that I live always wondering what I might have missed somewhere. It might be because I got caught so off guard by the church thing after thinking I knew all about "the antis", and that it stung so much...Anyway, I try always to ask myself things like, "If I were wrong about this, how would I know?" so I don't get caught out again...but of course, I can't rule that out happening. I might find out tomorrow that I'm wrong about something else very important to me. I hope not - I mean, I hope so - I mean, I hope not :P

By the way, if CK Salmon ain't a Mormon, why does he have the Mormony name going? Is he a non-Mormon who believes in the Mormon version of the afterlife?

Christopher K. Salmon is an extremely intelligent and capable critic of Mormonism, though his name does look a bit General Authority-ish with his middle initial included like that...

Yeah, I would call you a lot of things, but defender wouldn't be one of them.
