Moniker,
I served in the Tokyo North Mission from 86 to 88. I've been all over the rock since then though. Never been to Hayama. Army brat? Guntai no kusogaki daro? Thanks for all the knowledge and hearty welcome to the forum. I'll quit picking fights with AS8. You'd think a 41 year old would avoid that.

Well, don't be too hard on yourself, Coach. Most of us here are well into adulthood, but we can't seem to avoid picking fights, either.
I hope your Earth Day Birthday was nice.
Also, when I see your moniker, I don't think of sports. I think of this:

Lovely, isn't it?

As to solomarinaris....Dr. Shades can put you one in if you give him a link to a photo or tell him something you'd like in a photo.

Ha, yes, you can certainly refer to me as a damn army brat. Yet, I wasn't really. My father worked for the military so we lived off the base. I would go to base for school and then would go home and roll about in the culture. Japan is magnificent, isn't it?
There are quite a few posters that served missions in Japan that post on this forum.
I hope you can find some conversations here that you will enjoy and feel comfortable contributing. I know it may be a bit startling to see some of the sentiments that are expressed in this forum for new posters. I really hope you stay on here. Again, welcome! :)

Well, anyone who uses Audrey as an avatar must have tons of class. I will admit to being shocked by some of the comments. Japan is magnificent. The last time I was there I was accosted by foreign prostitutes every time I left my hotel room. Kind of put me back a little. I just moved my family back from out of state a year ago (Iowa and Texas) I am used to the type of anti-mormon sentiment out in the "world" (outside of the Zion curtain) but I wasn't prepared for it originating in my own back yard, so to speak.

Gosh, I was never "accosted" in Tokyo by any foreign prostitutes. Unlucky I guess.
What hotel could that have been, in which you were staying? I guess not the New Ohtani or....
Sounds like somewhere in a seedy part of Shinjuku or Ueno?
I'm sure it couldn't have been in the Ginza?
I detest my loose style and my libertine sentiments. I thank God, who has removed from my eyes the veil...

Actually, the last time I was in Japan (18 months ago) I was in Nagoya and Mie. It was the first time I had been to Nagoya and I can't remember the name of the hotel. Wasn't anything special, just a business class type hotel all the guys from Sumitomo stayed in. I wandered into the Ginza once a while ago. Eye opening.
