God really really does want to kill all the bad people. But see, to him it's like stamping on ants - they're so small it's hard for him to see who is who, and they keep moving around and spoiling his aim. He misses a lot of the time, and sometimes he gets the wrong people. But heck, you can't say he isn't trying.

Well, if we're talking about pedophiles, and sh**ty parents then Straight People beat The Gay Ones hands down. I don't think homosexuals should be barred from marrying, nor adopting based on their sexuality. That's ridiculous, antiquated religious zealotry.
Ever notice how lazy god is about smiting the wicked? Rather than just singling out the offenders and giving them a heart attack or something, he wipes them out with huge natural disasters, and any righteous people that happen to be close by suffer as collateral damage.
Obviously, one simple natural disaster saves sooooo much more time than picking off the offenders one by one. But hey... at least this way, he has a lot less prayers to answer from the righteous. Always gotta look at the bright side!
