This is because for them it was never about principles, but about results. So long as the results accord with the LDS position, the particular philosophical, political, or constitutional principles do not matter. The Church will switch from states rights to federalist based on what result they are looking for.

Not thinking it's gonna happen. Scale back a few programs and pay the taxes. We'll survive. When such legislation comes I expect insanity to grip the world anyway. No sexually libertine civilization has survived for more then three generations. Most don't pass two.
