I will take your word on that but ask.. Can you see other people upset by it?

Sure. I am sure it bugs some people. Some perhaps rightfully so, some irrationally so.

"some irrationally so" ??
You are out of touch with reality.. most people would be angry and being irrational has nothing to do with it.
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

There are quite a few others around, after all - no font need remain unused for lack of vicarious candidates.

But perhaps some of those religions might express even more vigorous objections than the Jews.

Please clarify: Do you imagine that vicarious LDS baptisms somehow specifically concentrate(d) on Jews as opposed to the dead of other faiths?

If the Church wants to baptize in proxy for certain dead people they should let the non-member relatives in to the temple and allow them to watch the ceremony.

Why?

And which relatives?

If I decide to pray for the soul of a deceased person, do I need to invite all of his third cousins twice removed to stand beside my bed?

Do we need to invite all of the thousands of descendants of somebody who died in the 1600s to attend the twenty-second baptismal service? Do we need to pay their travel expenses?

if it's a real baptism then treat it like one.

We do, witnesses and authority. Everything else is a cultural thing.

Is prayer a priesthood ordinance? You seem to be trying to equate baptism for the dead with prayer. This defense seems disingenuous.

What exactly is the difference if you don't believe that Priesthood power is real?

I'm not using the defense, but perhaps Dr. Peterson could explain.

From my perspective, there's a huge difference between a prayer or lighting a candle for the deceased and a ceremony conducted in a temple for the purpose of giving the deceased the opportunity to join your church. If there wasn't, I don't think the groups that have complained would have complained. Also, I don't think that catholics who pray or light candles for the deceased are doing so hoping that the deceased will accept catholicism in the afterlife. I think they perform those actions in remembrance and mourning. I could be wrong, though.
