You have freakin' got to be kidding.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Here is a post from an individual from 2 think, not a dummy by any stretch of the imagination who when she first started to post there was considered by the majority a fundamentalist christian. She is talking to another male in her reply, she was not even talking to JAK.
You are exactly what I imagined you would look like!
Thanks for all you've contributed to this forum over the years. You and JAK have contributed a huge deal of knowledge, I only wish there was some way to summarize all of it and read through over a weekend.
Sigh.
You'd be interested to meet my new husband. He's atheist. :)

No one disputes that JAK contributes a great deal of knowledge. The dispute rises from where he grabs it from, how he attributes it, and how he presents it.

That's good that no one disputes JAK contributes a great deal of knowledge, I was under a different impression thanks for your input on that.
Your comment to me in which you quoted me and then said "You've got to be kidding" was in regards to me remarking that he doesn't insult individuals in discussion and that I've seen them respond to him showing that he has gotten them to re-evaluate ideas. I mentioned nothing about "where he grabs information", "how he attributes it". If that's your dispute don't bother quoting me when I'm commenting on something quite different. Harmony your disingenuousness in discussion is rather unappealing. As far as how he presents in discussion apparently Karyn had praise for him in that regard, for if she didn't it's doubtful she would have offered any praise whatsoever, and given any indication that she has re-evaluated beliefs she once held, thanks to him and the other fellow.
I always start reading each post with the understanding that I like that person and that I will not let anything they say dissuade me of that. Sometimes that is easy, other times I rely on my tendency to forget angry feelings to do it for me. If you are able to envision the poster as being worthy of inherent dignity and respect, then you are able to relate to all.
There is of course the desire to admire those who possess qualities you have or qualities that you want. I admire the brains of The Dude and Blixa. I would like to be as loquacious of Runtu and Dr. Peterson and I would like to have the streak of raw goodness of Truth Dancer. In the end, we have to remain ourselves but that does not mean we cannot be enriched by one and all. I am content with that.
I've found that I relate mostly to the criminally handsome and dangerously clever guys like silentkid, CaliforniaKid, Runtu, gramps, cinepro etc.... Yeah we're cut from the same cloth. A cloth that's criminally handsome and dangerously clever.
Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07
MASH quotes I peeked in the back [of the Bible] Frank, the Devil did it. I avoid church religiously. This isn't one of my sermons, I expect you to listen.

I dispute this.
"Surely he knows that DCP, The Nehor, Lamanite, and other key apologists..." -Scratch clarifying my status in apologetics "I admit it; I'm a petty, petty man." -Some Schmo

Well I'm sorry you can't do that. Harmony said no one disputes that and for once I'll believe her.

I don't let a little thing like me not being able to do something hold me back. If I did, I'd never get anything done.
