Well Ray I say I don't know what writings of J. Smith impress you and you reply by telling me I need to look at his library. Then you mention he was reading the Bible before his first vision, then you say he deduced God was displeased and recognized no true Church was true from scriptures not from his first vision. And then your last sentence you say " He extrapolated his Bible readings to what God "told" him in the FV." That's the reply you give me to "I don't know what writings of J. Smith impressed you? I'm being honest here, you sound to me like a religious lunatic and yet just previously in this thread you were going the opposite route.

Anyhow Ray, I really don't want to discuss further with you, I made a mistake to even begin.

You probably did, because you have not the faintest damned idea what I believe. Or don't believe.

Now go on your merry way with your merry easter Bunny dreams.

And don't bother me again with questions, only to try to trap me.

Basically: “F” off.

For the record the response you made was to my comment about what of J. Smith's writings would impress you. My initial question in the thread was with regards to what are your current beliefs, but I made no comment about them. You are an A hole, that's all there is to it.

Pull the other leg. Do you seriously think I was born yesterday?

What do you seriously take me for?

Go get a bloody life.

Hi Ray, I see I did read your OP correctly: It's "Religion" that is gulling. Not MDB. To which I say a loud "Amen," Bro! (Although there are times with MDB  ;-)
I look forward to your new blog essay. Let us/me know when it's ready for the public. I truly enjoy your matter-of-fact style of thinking and expressing your thoughts--no B.S....
I think we two have been down many similar roads. While our individual rough spots have naturally left different scars, we have both healed to the realization of the unvarnished truth re Religion:
Religion is a human construct serving many purposes. Purposes that would be better addressed by the application of intelligence/knowledge than by wishful thinking and misplaced faith.
At least, that's how I see it... Thanks for your past thoughts & comments. I look forward to the coming ones...
Roger

why me wrote: Also, the Mormon faith is a tough faith to disprove.

WTF??? Only if one has a pre-existing and strong emotional commitment to it. Other than that, its fraudulence is transparently obvious.

why me wrote:People can assume that it is not true but they can never really be sure that it is a fraud.

Again, WTF???? I am as sure that Mormonism is a fraud as I'm sure that Mick Jagger likes women.

why me wrote:Thus, those that leave the church can have a problem.

Yes we can have a problem, like whether to order an Amber Ale or a Hefeweisen.
