The burden and work of the priesthood was given to the Negro race when it was the proper time. Every prophet went to the Lord on the matter and was told no. don't cast aspersion where it is unwarrented.
They should've asked a follow up question. Why was Elijah Abel given the priesthood by Joseph Smith and where is the revelation that bans the priesthood from blacks?
Would God stammer and try to dodge the question?

What has changed?
Wellllllllll, you see if at first you don't succeed never figure that you never entered in at the gate and are standing upon the rock and in the correct position to begin to get the apostolic and or personal visitation of Jesus Christ.
Which they are. Way off. And miserably unsuccessful. So they just quit.

I would like to know this, myself.
Joseph Smith also integrated the Priesthood with women much more freely as well. Women administered healing blessings for the sick, etc.
As near as I can tell, the Church strongly mirrored many of Brigham Young's prejudices against both women and blacks. That seems to be when many of these changes started.
I would be very interested in documentation anyone may have regarding the beginning of the priesthood ban against blacks.

One more time: try to not confuse God with the Brethren. When the Brethren aren't listening, which is much of the time, since they are men, why should God try to convince them? From his end, the communication channel is open. It's only on this end, men's end, that communication is blocked.
In other words, God was talking; not enough of the Brethren were listening.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
