He probably got sick of living the lie.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

As Droopy said, "given this article, his 'coming out' may bode ill for his position at BYU nonetheless". As long as BYU can get rid of him without publicity, it probably will do so. Don't blame BYU, this reaction is just in its nature. It was born that way.

Perhaps BYU will be subtle like moving the professor's office to the broom closet, then over time taking away his office chair and the boom closet light bulb. They know that professors do not like to change their own lightbulbs.

He is doing this in order to get fired then sue the Church, and challenge BYU hiring practices in court. If you dug a little you'll find he has at least one male lover, and is being "backed" by the guy who owns Signature Books and finances Sunstone, who has the money needed for lawyers to sue BYU once this guy is fired.

Your reading comprehension is way off. This is what the article says:

Finally, he fell hard for another Mormon man. The feelings of love and longing were overpowering. This was the real deal. But the feelings weren’t mutual, and Wilcox was devastated when they stopped being friends.

He has NEVER acted on his feelings and remains celibate. If you read the full article, you will see that he considered suicide due to his SSA feelings. He also had melancholy feelings when he interviewed a gay couple for his film because he realized he would never have the opportunity to have that "in-love" feeling due to his choice to not act on his SSA tendencies.

If you are referring to Hastings, his co-producer, they live in different states, and are only involved professionally, not personally. Hastings is tentatively "dating".

I was thinking of a similiar but not really acronym: STHU.

But you always were nicer than I!
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Look, just because BYU rigorously practices the Omertà, it does not give you license to stereotype all professors. Some are quite crafty.

How many Mormon women would ADMIT to you or anybody they had sex before marriage? Unless they had a child, I would say 100% would deny it!!! And every ONE of them would be a liar.

Let me ASSURE you....this guy has at least one male lover, has had many male lovers, both before he was at BYU and during his tenure, and he will eventually REVEAL this truth, but not until BYU kicks him out.

Let me assure you Darrick, you are a disturbed and mentally ill man. And your mind is rife with sick ideas and thoughts.

Liz asked for a CFR, Harmony says STHU. I add STFU. Your filth and vile is intolerable. Go see a therapist. Get some help and some medication.
