Once upon a time it was thought to be quite a good argument in favor of the way the US did things. You don't remember? Oh well, there were always some problems in that position, of course ...

No. Tell me what low marriage rates, gay rights, atheism and agnosticism have to do with the state of the freaking economy?

Dan Smith, another alleged abuse victim, is reeling from the recent collapse of his marriage which he blames in part on the psychological effects of the molestation he says he suffered as a child – at the hands of his local parish priest.

“He would rape me and then say this is what God’s love feels like,” Smith said, struggling to hold back tears more than twenty years after the alleged incidents.

What is the relevance of marriage rates, gay rights and a nearly atheistic/agnostic society and material wealth?

Is material wealth the almighty indicator of superiority? If the US abandon's it's religious bent, all of a sudden the US will gain material wealth?

What? What the hell?

What has material wealth got to do with anything?

Not seeing the connection, if there is one.

Occasionally you hear people use rhetoric that suggests that if gay marriage were allowed that society would start to come apart or suggest that without God there is no basis for morality.

So I think what he's suggesting is that they have allowed gay marriage, and stopped believing in God and they are still doing quite well.

Droopy would advocate that no where are the citizens more prosperous, content, and happy than those citizens of the humble state of South Carolina. South Carolina is the Shire if the Shire had Christianity and white people instead of hobbits and wizardry.

No one, not even the Droop, would claim Mississippi has better living standards than Scandinavia. Mississippi is slightly better than the living standards France and Germany though in Droopy's opinion based on years of intense study at worldnetdaily.

It doesn't. Norway, Sweden and Finland have high domestic abuse rates. Many families are in bad shape in all three countries. And when one considers the poplulation of each society and the amount of abuse going on, we can say that if all were just small cities in the USA, they would be considered sick cities because of alcohol and domestic abuse.

why me,

Am I correct in thinking that a world organization for children published a study that showed, based on a significant number of metrics that Scandinavia was the best place in which to raise children?
I seem to recall it covered, nutrition, saftey, wealth, education etc.
