I have only ever seen Shades’ act on two things:
1. A threat to the board (ok he let this slide with several until he made an example of one).
2. in real life violations.

Let me correct a misunderstanding: This board is a legal entity entirely separate from me. If someone threatens legal action against the board under the auspices of removing libelous material, I won't be affected in any way. I don't really even care. But when someone threatens legal action against me personally, especially due only to the fact that he or she dislikes the words of a third party over whom I have absolutely no control, then I must take action to keep bread in my children's mouths. Sorry if you don't concur.

Second, just like I reserve the right to delete material that could affect someone's employment, ecclesiastical standing, or marriage--see the recent DCP/Pitbull dust-up for one example--I also reserve the right to delete material that could get someone killed.

At present I disagree with Shades for moving the thread into protective custody without a valid explanation. It's not as though only Nort's stuff was moved but everyone's posts were taken away. Hey, people took the time to write their thoughts down -- taking time out of our busy schedules only to be carted off without apology or explanation. That stinks.

We deserve a valid explanation to the intent to satisfy all parties who commented.

Thank you. That certainly clarifies things. There are crazy Mormons who are capable of such actions. And there are suicidal people who make themselves vulnerable to such crazy people. In my anger, I have felt the same impulse, myself. It is not martyrdom when it is fueled with such feelings.
