Personally I think that David Twede should be excommunicated if he's told lies about the church but then refuses to repent of such lies. Now suppose he tells some lies but then repents. Then according to the doctrine of repentance then he should be forgiven. He really can't harm the church by lying about the church and then repenting because such harm would actually be counteracted against greatly as people would see a noble example of where the church was wrongly accused, got some publicity, got its reputation rehabilitated, and many people lost not knowing where to find the church would've found the church and thus found their way to the most honest and truthful church on the earth. Now it's always possible that this President Pratt in the Orlando area can be a rogue local leader like President Haight of the Iron Stake was in 1857. Just a reminder that Haight ordered the massacre at Mountain Meadow contrary to the doctrines of the church. If Pratt is rogue then I suppose he could excommunicate Twede even if Twede is repentedly honest.

Can anyone point out to me where Twede has lied? If so then I'm going to call that man to repentance personally.

I think the problem is more that he has criticized the LDS Church, not that he has lied about it.

Kind of like the Nauvoo Expositor. If we had access to the minutes of the Council of the Fifty, we would probably see more fully the extent to which the Expositor was accurate. Where Law was wrong was in his objections to Joseph Smith making himself the polygamous god and viceregent of God on earth, not so much in his accuracy regarding those claims.

Hmmmm I suppose there will always be evil people who want to discipline others for just being honest and critical. Nevertheless when someone (or an organization) is honest and truthful then it really doesn't have to fear criticism as in the long run they'll be vindicated (assuming they have God on their side).
