If any of you are wondering what Bob's credentials are for criticizing someone's research, please take a look at the following link. You'll see he's an immensely qualified and intellectually honest amateur historian:

I have been following this on both boards. Is this discussion solely about the incorrect addition of a middle initial to a single name?

Re: Grant Palmer is attacked by Brian Hales and Gregory L. S
It seems they are afraid of Palmer as well as the truth or any criticism. It appears that they took down my original comment, and they took down Gregory L. Smith's reply to me also. (I can no longer see them). I'm kind of surprised at this cowardly move on their part. This should let everyone know that they aren't after an honest discussion of the issues there, but only want to defame, smear, and lie about anyone they disagree with and if anyone truly challenges them and has answers to their BS, they are too insecure and afraid to allow it to be published (for very long in this case).

I always took you as someone who was more reasonable and less partisan than other apologists.
I wasn't commenting on the whole exchange, just one small part of it. But you've correctly guessed where my sympathies lie (not with Mr. Palmer).

No, Hales and Smith didn't plagiarize Van Wagoner. Just Palmer.
Are you still on the Benjamin F. Winchester thing?
